I'm not sure that we can call olive oil extensively processed. At least for Extra Virgin OO. It's simply pressed from the raw fruit. (seed oils on the other hand with their multi step chemical process...)

Sad really to see a brilliant scientist and doctor presenting himself like a ginzo knife salesman on an informercial TV station. I have read his book and watching him being interviewed and was very impressed. After watching this infomercial I have lost a lot of respect for him. Guess he needs the money. Another form of addicton--can't get enough.

This was actually made as a public service for PBS, and he didn’t make money doing it. The reason it is even on the RUclips Channel is because he negotiated for it to be free for educational purposes a few years after it aired on PBS.

Earning a Doctoral Degree Research in Higher Education Journal Page 10 Motivation for a Doctorate Degree: Its Joys A colleague once said that “I joined the doctoral program because I needed two things for my continued happiness: first, intellectual stimulation; and, then physical stimulation. Years ago when I first got married, I received both forms of stimulation from my husband; shortly after, I needed new sources of excitement and invigoration which the doctoral program fulfilled.” Another colleague named Kelvin A. Massey mentioned that he was pursuing graduate studies, not necessarily for improving job potential, but to learn the vocabulary and language of business and high education research. In his real estate law practice, he was frequently called upon to resolve disputes and negotiate contracts between parties as well as implement the terms and conditions of previously negotiated agreements and contracts. During the course of his solo practice, he learned the concepts of managing a business such as marketing, organizational structure, financing, accounting, and strategic planning. Although he operated a highly successful practice, the limited business education relegated him to decision-making based on “what made sense” and other intuitive factors. After the sale of the business, he decided to satisfy a long deferred personal goal as well as satisfy his craving to learn “the language” of business and higher education regarding research and enrolled in the graduate business program. While everyone can use intellectual stimulation, there are many ways to get it, and a doctoral program is just one possible source. However, intellectual stimulation is not the only reason people pursue a doctoral degree. As previously mentioned, there are many reasons for pursuing a doctoral degree. One of the biggest may be the shortage in qualified terminally-degreed faculty members on college campuses. Regardless of the reason, studying for a doctoral degree is entirely different from the previous education. Some experts believe that doctoral study differs from earlier educational pursuits in two ways: intellectual and psychological. In terms of intellectual, doctorate study must produce scholars; as such, it involves doing a number of intensive researches and completing area-focused studies. In addition, there are a number of psychological aspects unique to doctoral studies. In some cases, doctoral students also have to deal with difficult feelings such as boredom, frustration, and loneliness. Planning to get a doctoral degree, students should evaluate and ask themselves why they need a doctoral degree. Not being able to adequately identify one’s

The focus is on quality of carbs vs no/low carb. So, we include slow-acting carbohydrates like fruit, beans, vegetables rather than eliminating carbs. Also, The fat recommendations are 40-50% of the meal rather than the 70-80% that is recommended on a keto diet.

Excellent explanation. It appears that we can draw our own conclusions from the available data. The conclusion could be that none of the macronutrients are singularly bad, but its the quality and quantity of macronutrients that is important. Additionally, we are highly complex machines that require a variety of specific inputs. Those inputs are proper diet, exercise, stress, supplementation, therapeutic, and social. Most importantly, know thyself first, and then devise your plan. If anyone needs help in devising a plan that is best for you, feel free to contact me... Phil the Nutritionist

It's the hunger - the game changer. I've been following the low fat advice for 45 years of Yoyo dieting; each time ending up tired and hungry. All I ended up with is being fat and ill with coronary heart disease. Until I discovered Ketone OMAD Fasting. In January I started losing weight. I've dropped from 254 lbs to 216 lbs. I was only hungry for about two days. except about 1 hour before meal time. I've never lost nearly so much weight before except when I had cancer treatment in 2008 when I lost 30lbs, only to put it all back on. I feel better, fitter. I no longer get heart pain. I do not miss the bread, pasta, rice, or root veg. I eat fish, meat, eggs, butter, and lots of green veg; cabbage, onions, salad, kale, toms, bell peppers, nuts, cheese. I amke a special moment for myself to cook real food. That's me. Once a week I might cheat, but do not really enjoy it when I do. My weight is still falling by 1lb per ten days and I have relaxed my regime buy eating twice a day. Hunger is the game changer. Oh yeah and my blood lipids are still good.

I find the clarity of this presentation to be very high, even though my PhD is not in nutrition at all. I look forward to hearing about future research. It would also be useful if Dr. Ludwig etc could assemble a list citing 5-10 recent papers in highly respected technical journals that I could suggest to my own doctors to read from Primary sources to understand these concepts. My doctors are not going to be open to ideas that a non-doctor such as myself suggested based on RUclips videos or "popular" books such as "Always Hungry". I know that Always Hungry has lots of references, but I only think I can get my doctor to read about five papers in the primary literature, not 100, and not any book. Thank you very much.

I used Tera's Whey when developing the recipes for both Always Hungry and Always Delicious. I still use that, or I use collagen protein these days. Check out the Shopping Helper section of our Resources and Downloads tab on our website for more on brand suggestions www.drdavidludwig.com/resources-and-downloads/#shoppinghelpers As for chocolate, it is a matter of personal taste, we just recommend at least 70% cocoa content. Chocolate needs to be melted at low, even temperatures like in a double boiler. Melting chocolate is also easily done in the microwave. I look forward to hearing how these recipes turn out for you. Medical Cannabis and a Good Diet are a medical necessity for all those of us who have been innocently and ignorantly consuming such hard to avoid mitochondrial poisonous polyunsaturated Vegetable oils in our diets and got one or more of many more modern thus metabolically caused diseases and CANCERS. These barely existed before about 1900 when industrially manufactured Vegetable seed oils and foods started becoming available. You need to exclude all manufactured snacks, takeaways, restaurant fried and manufactured foods to avoid all these vegetable oils. The ideal solution for ultimate healthy longevity is to go fully VEGAN and take Cannabis Supplementation to boost your damaged Endocannabinoid System until you are better (maybe 2 years or so) while getting all vegetable seed extract, typical industrially refined cooking oils out of your diet. You certainly can use some polysaturated animal food-based oil/fat, that is in all animal products if you are not quite so ill or worried about living as long as reasonably possible while remaining perfectly healthy. Best luck from your optimally self reeducated and friendly family Dr David who wants to see you be actually cured of all the modern diseases that are definitely so dietary-based in origin.

Um... It's new to people outside your bubble. Most people have never heard that carbs can do this, most people have been told their entire lives that fat is deadly. It's important to explain to people how what they've been told their entire lives is wrong, and why it's wrong. It's especially helpful to understand the science behind what happens to carbs inside our bodies.
